ECF Registration/Training Classes

Attorneys

Training classes for attorneys and their staff will be held at the Clerk's Office in Eau Claire and Madison.  Please complete the following documents:

Once these documents have been completed and reviewed by the Clerk's Office, you will be contacted to schedule a training date.

After registering to file electronically with our district, participants may be required to complete one of the training exercises listed below before receiving a live login.

Please click on the appropriate link and follow the instructions as listed for the exercise.

For your benefit, and the benefit of others, please complete the CM/ECF Computer-Based Training modules before attending training.  These tutorials are designed to provide an overview of the features and some basic familiarization with terms. Please contact us at: feedback@wiwb.uscourts.gov to receive a copy.

Limited Use Participants

Attorneys and creditor representatives may obtain a "Limited Use Password" to access the CM/ECF system.  This limited password allows attorneys or creditor representatives to file a small number of documents, and there is a restricted level of access to the system.  For example, a limited use password does not allow someone to file a petition or another pleading that requires a fee.  It is intended for use by those participants who find themselves filing only the following select documents:

  • Creditor Request for Notices and/or Notices of Appearance

  • Proofs of Claim

  • Withdrawals or Transfers of Claim

  • Reaffirmation Agreements

Please complete the following documents:

Once these documents have been completed and reviewed by the Clerk's Office, prospective limited use registrants will be contacted regarding any training required to receive their password.  At this time, it is contemplated that limited use participants with previous CM/ECF experience will only be required to complete a test assignment in the use of the system and/or training by phone.  However, the court reserves the right to require training, including onsite training, before the issuance of any password.

After registering to file electronically with our district, participants may be required to complete the training exercise listed below before receiving a live login.

Please click on the link below and follow the instructions as listed for the exercise.

NOTE:  Use of the CM/ECF system is limited to authorized users. As indicated in the Attorney/Participant Registration Form signed by all registered users, the combination of an authorized password and user identification constitutes the participant's "signature" of any documents that are submitted electronically through the CM/ECF system. Passwords should not be shared with unauthorized users, as only the authorized attorney/participant will be deemed to have signed the pleading for purposes of Fed. R. Bankr. Pro. 9011. If there is any reason to suspect that your password has been compromised in any way, it is your responsibility to immediately notify the Court so that the password can be changed.
